![]() 6.2K or 'HQ' 4K from capture 6.2K up to 30p (1.23x crop).In-body stabilization rated at up to 7.0EV.40MP BSI CMOS sensor with X-Trans color filter array.I will look up the exact settings I arrived on but where I had doubts, I know that the AF is not only fast enough but it is truly a different way of thinking and shooting. The Fujifilm X-T5 is a photography-focused 40MP APS-C mirrorless camera that continues the company's line of cameras with traditional control dials. I tried experimenting with a few different AF areas allowing the AF to grab heads then eyes using AF-C eye AF and it can do it as long as you have a Sony lens and know sometimes it will grab the wrong head. I have an A1 but on the street I have been using my a6600 and this summer I worked on shooting exactly like you are thinking in Paris on the street and in the metro. It will do it and you can probably shoot wide open but you are going to have to test a little to get down your technique. I was a die hard use the tilt up screen, put the AF spot on the face, focus lock etc but I now know you can let the computer do it. There's something about the humanity of it. I usually get lost in it for hours and end up walking miles without even realizing. I don't mean the pictures per se, just the entire experience. I should add that this has been one of the most rewarding projects I've ever done. Maybe there is something of value I can offer from my last 10 weeks or so of shooting- or the other way around. I'm not projecting that on you, just interesting to know more about why you are shooting from the hip. I've finally built up my confidence to slow down, use the viewfinder, compose and make sure I'm in focus (well most of the time, it's a work in progress). I couldn't make it work, because I was only shooting from the hip because I didn't want to be noticed, which also made me get in a hurry, which ruined tons of shots. I started vaguely similar to what you described. I've been uptown 1-2 times per week ever since. Lastly, you post caught my interest because I started a personal project a couple months ago, working on street'ish photography which is something I've always wanted to do. That way, pretty much anything in that area will be acceptably sharp. Maybe the conditions you plan to work within make it workable.īeyond that, then I'd consider as the OP suggested, to decide on a focal distance and depth of field that you need and manually pre-focus to that. of the A1 might be of value (barring some A1 feature I'm probably oblivious to!). I suppose shooting from the hip like that and using something like auto-eye/face etc. Keep in mind I only have an A7IV and A7RIV but my experience was pretty much everything but what I wanted was in focus when I tried it from the hip with auto focus. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It sounds like advanced focus means auto focus, and if so, I don't know if that's the best approach. Thank you very much!Ĭorrect me on anything I've misinterpreted. To capture the most usable photos in this scenario, which focus settings would you suggest? Other setting suggestions would be appreciated as well. I'm planning to use a 35mm lens I have (I also have a 85 and zoom 24-70). I'm planning to use it shooting from the hip, so I will not be able to see what I'm shooting at and review what did I "fish" once in my home. Although it is not my main use, I would like to see if I can take use of the advanced focus capabilities of the A1 to use it as a street photography camera. ![]()
